From a space filled with flamingo wallpaper, a very busy wall mural, and lots of pink, this vanity space was transformed to the current home owner's tastes using several shades of metal in the accessories and just a hint of a safari theme to echo the adjoining guest bedroom's design. Floor tiles with a slight coppery sheen that enhance the copper on the mirror, were installed on the diagonal to suggest a larger space.

The small toilet/tub/shower area got just a hint of the safari idea by using animal print towels and a few themed accessories in a beautiful rattan shelving unit.
To further enhance the look, the faucet, drawer/door pulls and towel bars and rings were switched to oil rubbed bronze, which replaced the dated shiny chrome fixtures and gave the bathroom a more elegant look.
A complete redesign made customers feel more comfortable in this massage therapy room and gave an overall more professional atmosphere. AFTER BEFORE
This home went from traditional to this sleek, contemporary
Choosing the right accessories and lighting is an important part of the overall design The right accessories complement the room's decor.
A neutral color scheme (creamy white, brown, black accents) helps keep this Asian-inspired room simple and "quiet." A fabric wall hanging accents the theme without getting too busy. The bookcase's four lower shelves are easily accessible but appear less cluttered with the help of a cleverly placed sheer curtain. Soft lighting and a bit of nature complement the Asian feel. Simple, natural elements are important in this design. Original art such as the ceramic dragon mug enhances other authentic pieces like the Japanese fan. BEFORE AFTER Decorating via the Internet, emails, and phone calls with my client, this bathroom went through a total transformation from a traditional flowery design with mauve towels and rugs and sponge painting on the walls to a spa-like retreat. With chocolate brown on the walls, dark brown towels and rugs and the perfect geometric curtain as a complement, a few spots of accent colors completed this spa design. |
